Family disputes are personal and stressful. They are handled with discretion, with an eye on settlement wherever it serves you — and firm representation where it does not.
Matters handled
- Divorce by mutual consent and contested divorce under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 and the Special Marriage Act, 1954
- Maintenance for wife, children and parents (BNSS s.144, earlier CrPC s.125) and under the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenance Act
- Child custody, visitation and guardianship
- Protection, residence and monetary relief under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005
- Restitution of conjugal rights and judicial separation
- Defence and prosecution in cruelty and dowry cases (BNS s.85/86, s.80)
- Mediation and settlement agreements
Mutual consent divorce in brief
Spouses who have lived separately for at least a year can jointly file under s.13B of the Hindu Marriage Act. The second motion usually follows a six-month period, which the court may waive in suitable cases.
